Fuel Out

Starting with a super gasket Percey's dead soft aluminum set, we fixed the header to the heads with the locking Stage 8 header bolts

Stage 8 header bolt, stainless steel, forvever locking.

Headers are Hooker Super Comp # 2207  1 7/8" and were from the factory ceramic coated on the outside. We later had them re-coated, and as well coated them on the inside with ceramic. This adds to not only HP, but helps keep the engine bay kool. Many comments have been made as to how fast the headers cool after a shut down, its because of the inside cermamic coating.

From the 3 1/2" collector, we neck down very small amount to a fully mandrel bent 3" dual system, using Flowmaster Delta 50's, exiting with 3" stainless steel extensions. A custom made X pipe is fitted in the exhaust system.

You may notice we have drilled and plugged 2 bungs just behind the header collectors for A/F meter. I have an Innovative A/F meter that we can hook up and record up to 45 mins of driving, and up to 20 events within that time from. Fully downloadable to a PC, its a good way of looking at the health, and A/F of the engine under various driving conditions.

I at one time had Flowmaster Delta 40's, but found them to be deafning if you drive the car like I do, lots.

In changing to the delta 50's, we still get a deep throatie sound, but I am no longer deaf after long drives. With the windows up, and the A/C on, you can actually listen to tunes on the highway. They are actually the recommended muffler for 55 to 62 Corvette amoung other apps.

Flowmasters' sound clip can be heard here. http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/50_delta.html

The additional sound deadning and insulation has helped to quiet the interior noice level.
